FROM LEAH TO PRINCESS

For several days I have sat here waiting for the right words to say about Leah's departure from the Chicks. I thought it would be short...., prolly( Rosie term) not.
I first found Leah, singing at the South Arm Hall Talent Quest when she was about 17 .I think she was even playing with Dan our powerful boom boom drummer on guitar!!!! I immediately went in search of her Mum to get permission to snaffle her. At the time Q and I were rehearsing up a show and Leah fitted in like a glove. That led on to her working in L&Q as a backing vocalist. My main memories of that are her and I cacking ourselves mostly, and Leah following me around in " ad lib this "dance mode, with her telling my bottom that she was not comfortable doing this but doing it anyway. Always with a hearty laugh.
She left L&Q and pursued her architectual engineering thing for a while until Rosie and I talked her into joining us as a Chiccenne.
The band bloomed and blossomed with me, Rosie 4tune and Leah on the frontline. Gradually Leah transformed into Princess Leah with her incredible soprano and the familiar shouts of "Leah rocks" from what I perceived to be die hard fans of the Princess herself.
Princess Leah's last night as a Chic will be at Sawtell RSL on 23rd of Ho Ho Ho December 2006 ,with Lea , Kara Mia the new girl and Princess Leah from another planet on vocals. Our superb lineup band on the night will be Glenn Heath major lead guitar; Geoff (the ROCK) Dixon bass; Dan (powerful boom boom) Power drums. Maybe we could even get Rosie to come along and belt out a cuppla tunes. Be there and find out I reckon anything could happen . Mmmmm even maybe Mark wells. We have to spend that money........?
